MITS China

The journey so far...

  • MITS has travelled to China regularly making 15 visits since 1999.
  • MITS has visited over 30 Tennis Centres, Clubs, Schools, Stadiums and offices in China.
  • MITS has run Clinics in 15 different venues and locations in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzen, Chengdu, Kunming and Guangzhou.
  • MITS Australia has hosted and trained Chinese players from Beijing, Henan, Changchun, Shanghai, Qingdao, Kunming, Hong Kong and Taiwan. We have also had players from Malaysia, Singapore, Austria, America, England, Indonesia, Brunei, Bahrain, India, Vietnam and Japan.
  • MITS is in a position to establish a link with a major Tennis Centre in both Shanghai and Beijing plus significant links with smaller centres in Kunming, Shenzen and Hong Kong, and possible also in Fuzhou.
  • MITS was selected as a preferred provider by a major company which runs the Shanghai Masters.
  • MITS partnered in a cooperative venture with a Beijing Company with a significant role in running the 2005 Beijing Tennis Open.
  • MITS was selected as Preferred Provider Principal Agent in promoting an Australian contingent to the 2005 Beijing Veterans Tennis Tournament.
  • MITS at Riverside was chosen as a training venue by the Chinese National Womens Team during the Australian Open in 2005.
  • MITS meets regularly with Development Officers and the Director of the Chinese Tennis Association when working in Beijing.
  • MITS meets regularly and exchange ideas with the two senior umpires in China.
  • MITS has many other contacts in China ranging from key people in Provincial Education, Sports Universities, Sports Management Companies, Sports Sponsors, Australian Investment Bodies etc.
  • A MITS member was a Committee Member of the Australian – Chinese Friendship Society 2004.
  • MITS conducted a Coaches Conference to over 50 Chinese coaches at Beijing Sports University, in September 2005. The conference was endorsed by the Chinese Tennis Association.
  • MITS also conducted camps/clinics in Osaka, Japan in 2005, and in Singapore in 2006.
